Reardan Harvest

So, for those of you who don't know, we're in the middle of a major wheat producing county.  We're literally surrounded by thousands of acres of farm country.  It's been a good, fun, learning experience to live here, to learn about the different crops and to hear the upsides and the downsides for the people who farm it.

This year spring was late, summer was late, wet, and cool.  By the time that the wheat was supposed to be ripening, there were concerns about whether the wheat would ripen at all and whether things like wheat rust would damage it. We heard 2 main things: that the wheat needed to ripen, and that hot weather would help that happen.  Also, there were the common concerns about fires and injury.

So, as believers living here, what could we do?  We started praying, and we prayed just about every day for several months over that harvest.  We prayed against wheat rust, we prayed for good weather, we prayed against rain on cool days, we prayed against fire and injury. We invested ourselves.

Guess what happened?  Bumper crop. No kidding, the farmers have had trouble not going over weight on their trucks.  We're routinely hearing that the harvest is so full that it's hard on the machinery.  Awesome!  Also, harvest is almost over and we haven't had any fires or injuries that I know of.

So do I believe it's because of us?  I think that when people who really understand how to release God's will on the earth get involved, things change. Beyond that, only God knows.
