Hello, blog!

So, some people I know might get involved in a new hobby, and some people I know might completely disregard previous interests.  Do I know anything about that?  Maybe....

I'm not trying to become Martha Stewart or anything (I don't want to go to jail, for one thing), but I've taken up knitting!  Here's Allegra in my first project--only took me six months to complete!  Since then I've made a hat and mittens for Teran, and I'm working on a set of mittens for Micaiah.  This is definitely a learn-as-you-go style of picking up a new skill, so it comes with a set of mistakes, but I don't mind, and fortunately the recipients don't seem to mind, either!

In other news, you may not know this, but IT'S A GIRL! Yup, child #5 is girl #4!  Against the mathematical odds, these things do seem to run in waves, at least in the families we know.  We're excited for a new addition to the family.  Teran needed a little adjustment time, but now is looking forward to having a longer sword so that he can protect all of his sisters!  Way to go, buddy.
Here she is, happy and healthy at 25 weeks.  We're still working on a name; Micaiah likes to call her Manna (What is it?), but I think that's out for a long-term name, along with Euthegenia and Credence Lobelia, tempting though they may be.

So while I'm knitting, so is God.  Thanks.
