"Match this."

I have to tell you an awesome story.  This kind of thing is becoming more common in our house, as we create a culture that expects God to lead us and to move through us.

A while ago Micaiah started beading: making beaded necklaces, earrings, that kind of stuff.  As she learned, it occurred to me that we could make this into a "serious" hobby, but we would need a focus.  Well, for quite a while she's been wanting to sponsor a child from one of the orphanages we're loosely connected with (in Thailand and Uganda).  So we thought we'd try to sell the jewelry to raise the money to sponsor the child.

So, we've gotten a good start.  We told her that she'd need enough money saved up for a few months' worth of support before she started, and she's almost there.  She's gotten permission to sell her things at her dad's bluegrass concerts, so that provides a good outlet.  One thing that's been important to her is which child to support, specifically.

Last night she had a dream that she texted God (!) asking Him that when the time came to choose a child, He'd show her which one to support.  He texted back a picture with the words "Match this." and a smiley face:  : )  (Apparently God uses emoticons.)  So today the folder with the pictures arrived in the mail, and she looked through them and found her.  Here she is:

Isn't she cute?

We're excited to start showing the love of God to this little girl as we continue with our God-adventure.

I love how funny, and practical, and loving God is.  He's so much better than we give Him credit for. : )
